With Nanna at a super fun Easter Egg Adventure at their church the Saturday before Easter.

Easter

Easter, otherwise known as my due date and Nanna's birthday was wonderful. Melanie woke up to eggs leading in a path from her room to the kitchen where she realized the Easter Bunny ate the carrots she left for him and in their place left her a basket of goodies. Natalie was super excited about her basket of bibs, pacifiers and Aquafor :). Clint went to church with his mom- I did not attempt to take the girls this year- we'll try for next year. I waited at my parents until Clint and his mom got home. Melanie and Natalie got their baskets from my parents and Melanie was super excited about hiding and finding eggs. She had a "secret" with Pops that they were eating the candy after I said no more. Then we all went to Clint's mom and met up with Brian Dawn. The girls both got more goodies (it was like Christmas) and Melanie got to hide and find eggs with a whole new crowd of people. It was a very fun day but I was exhausted by the end!

Cute pics of Natalie week 1-2

Our little girl is officially 2 weeks old. She sleeps ALL THE TIME!!! I do not remember Melanie sleeping this much. Night time is going pretty well. After a few initial nights of Natalie going to sleep around 2:00 am we are now going to sleep between 10:30 and 11:30. She sleeps for anywhere from 1 1/2 hours -3 hours then wakes up to eat. She will normally go back to sleep unless I couldn't get a burp out of her then she normally wakes back up a few minutes later and I send Clint in. She continues this process until I wake up for the day. I realized I am not fast with 2 kids yet. It takes me about 2- 2 1/2 hours to get myself, Melanie, and Natalie bathed, clothed, hair fixed, fed, packed up and in the car in the mornings. I am going to have to perfect this process before I go back to work b/c I am not waking up at 4:30! Poor little Natalie has been drug across the world. Life with Melanie is busy and on the go so Natalie has been everywhere and Melanie did not meet the world until she was 6 weeks old. Oh well, things changed! I attempted the large carts at Target where Melanie sits in an attached seat thing and Natalie is in her car seat on the normal seat part but I ran into everything and eventually cashed that cart in for a normal one and just put Natalie in the basket. It keeps my shopping to a minimum b/c I don't have much space but I cannot handle the big cart.

We had a fun neighborhod Easter Egg Party today. Here are all of the pics. Clint and I went on our first date last night. Since Natalie isn't taking a bottle yet we had 1 hour and had to move fast. We dropped the girls off at my parents and went to Longhorn. We called ahead so we were seated immediately and ordered right off the bat. We were home 10 minutes late but Natalie hadn't started crying for milk yet so it was ok. It was wonderful to be out without children and not pregnant. What a different life it is...it is hard to remember life before Melanie when we would go out just the two of us all the time!

Well, it doesn't seem as if either of our daughters are overly photogenic. But, they are both so sweet and cute in person it doesn't matter. Melanie is continuing to be wonderful and I got to sleep from 5:00-8:00 this morning!!!!! Guess what woke me up...Clint had to get Melanie up so she could get ready for her Chuck E. Cheese birthday party and she started crying and then my milk starting spewing. Jeez Louis! Wrong kid there boobies. I guess they don't care where the crying is coming from they were ready for action.

When Melanie saw Natalie at home for the first time

Our life is quite busy these days but it is already hard to remember life before Natalie. Clint and I ordered Chinese last night and guess what- my water didn't break and I actually got to eat it. (We had ordered it at Chris and Aileen's house but never got to eat it b/c my water broke and we were off to the hospital.) We were thinking how much has changed in less than a week...it is crazy! Natalie is eating like a champ. On NO SCHEDULE....eats maybe every hour or two. But, I would rather that problem than inability to latch on. Sleeping gets better and better. She went down last night around 10:15 and slept in her crib all night. She woke up at least 1time/hour to eat but at least she went right back to sleep in her crib after each feeding without a problem. Melanie is an amazing big sister. She has had a few fits I think out of need for attention but all in all is doing great. She got to get away a few times- I took her to a puppet show at the library on Weds and she went to school Tues/Thurs but she seems so excited to get home and play with Natalie. Clint is taking Melanie to a bday party at Chuck E. Cheese tomorrow so they will get some time together. My pride and joy right now...I put on real jeans yesterday- the kind with belt loops and everything :) !!!! They are a big size for me but heck they are real jeans and I am pumped! Enjoy the new pics- oh by the way we have enjoyed all of visitors and if you came by and didn't get a pic on the blog sorry we forgot!

We went for the heel prick yesterday and just as we thought her count did go up. We have to go back to the hospital today for another round to make sure the number is staying steady or heading down. My milk came in with full force yesterday so I am sure her numbers will steadily decrease. Last night she slept in her bed a few hours so we are heading in the right direction but 10:00-2:00 still was awful. Oh well it will get better! These additional pics came from my mom's camera.
