Funny New Pictures

Her latest thug look...she pulled this old hat from her drawer...her new favorite game!

Mommy and Melanie after bath.

Showing off her chompers

She thinks her measuring cups are perfect size drinking cups!

She loves baby dolls all of a sudden. Right after this picture she pooped on the floor. Joy.

Daddy and Melanie after bath

She thinks watching the water come out of the faucet is amazing- she likes to stick her head under it and try to catch the water with her hands.

Her hair holds pigtail looks without rubberbands- much more body than my hair!

Papa and Melanie

We went to Chattanooga for Thanksgiving this year and had a great time visiting with everyone. Melanie was an amazing little girl- she slept the whole way down there and the whole way back-wahoo! She also was quite social. I was scared that she might be leary of going to the family members she hadn't seen in a while but she was just a social butterfly going to anyone and playing with anything. She LOVED eating all of the yummy Thanksgiving food. There was not one thing she did not like. We really enjoyed our trip- here are all of the great pictures.

Friends are Fun!

Melanie looking at Zach and Grace's toys with her Nana
Grace says...hey do you have teeth? Melanie says...yeah- let me test them out on you!
They are so excited to see each other!

Melanie went to a birthday party (her first) for our friend's twins (Zach and Grace) which turned one. Melanie had a blast and loved the commotion and cake- I am hoping this means she will enjoy her own birthday party! Here are a few cute pictures the Miniscalco's sent us from the party.

Not too much new...

Hanging out with my mom...

Playing at my parents

Not too much is new but I haven't posted in a while. Melanie is now saying dada, mama, dog, and every now and then bye bye. She can wave, cruise along furniture, feed herself finger foods, and play pat-a-cake. She now is taking her afternoon bottle from a sippy cup and doesn't seem to mind. Her favorite activity is reading books- she loves them! She will often cry when I am finished reading. She knows how to use sign language to say "more" and will use it when we are playing games, reading books, or when she wants more to eat. What a smarty! Here is a recent picture.

Update

We went for our 9 month doctor appointment last Thursday (a couple of weeks late due to scheduling conflicts with my job). Melanie is moving along great. She weighs 19 lbs 13 ounces and is 28 1/2 inches long. She put on quite a show and did not want to cooperate with the doctor. I had him check her eyes b/c they are crossed in some pictures but Melanie didn't even want to open them at first but they are all okay- just mother paranoia. Her cold finally went away. She was not a happy camper when she was sick (not that I can blame her) but she wanted to be held 24 hours a day- it reminded me of when she was very little- boy were those tough times! She is back to herself now thank goodness. She got to play with her friend Caroline this past weekend. We had a baby shower for Caroline's mom and dad and got a babysitter for Caroline and Melanie. Today had some added drama. On my way home after picking Melanie up from my parents I got rear ended on Hwy 78. Jeez Louise! I have some bad car luck! The guy pulled over and had insurance and there is not visible damage to my car but I'm going to get it checked out just in case. Poor Melanie had been in 2 car accidents in 5 months! That is some bad luck. Thank goodness for good carseats! I have tomorrow off so it is mommy-daughter day and I am quite excited!

Checking out what lurks in her Halloween basket.
Wahoo- it was puffs and a spider book.
Here she is our little chicken (but as TJ says, she is actually a rooster)
With her best friend princess Caroline
Checking out our neighbors spooky decorations
