Melanie's New Bike

I got Melanie a new bike yesterday after thinking she looked rather foolish scooting around on her radio flyer trike. She did okay yesterday on round 1 (the videos). Today I took her out to a large area of flat ground and she did much better. She gets a little tripped up on the fact that the bike breaks and she likes to ride and look around at the scenery and I'm having to teach her that importance of looking forward. But overall cute and good.

When the kids are away...the parents will play!

This past Saturday night we all sent the kiddos away to throw TJ and Becca a couples shower. Though it started out a bit slow it really picked up and was great fun. It was over at Chris and Aileen's house and between supplying folks with free food, beer, wine, cake and music...the party got going. We had an inpromptu dance party that really livened things up. Super fun. Enjoy the silly pics...like I said "when the kids are away...the parents will play!"

By the way...complete props to Katie, Tajel, Aileen, Ruth, & Kelly for some amazing dance skills! And yes, Clint you too :)

Strawberry Patch

Last week I took the girls to pick strawberries in Loganville and HOLY COW were they the most delicious strawberries I have EVER eaten. Natalie was eating them straight from the vine. Melanie, was actually picking them well and putting them in the bucket. It is only $10 for an entire gallon of strawberries. What a bargain. So yummy but soooo messy. The strawberries are literally so juicy you have to bite into them over the sink so Natalie was covered in strawberry juice!

INK Museum

Well, last Monday Clint had the day off so we decided to make it a VERY BUSY day. We started off with a couples "date" to the gym. Rarely do we get to go to the gym together but when we have time we take advantage of it. We even had a built in babysitter of the gym daycare...how romantic :) Then we decided for a little family time and took the girls to Gainsville to the INK Museum. For those of you that don't know...it is AWESOME!!!!! It is completely interactive and HUGE! We started off in an art room (it was Nurse's Week) so the girls got to make cards for kids in a hospital. Then they had a "baby" play room complete with a nursing area for mom's and everything. Then, the rest of the facility was real life "things" made into kid rooms. There was a post office, grocery store, library, salon, diner, bank (complete with a working ATM machine Melanie loved), vet, dentist office, dr office, radiology office, a REAL airplane, a REAL fire truck, a REAL police car, a school, an indoor playground, model train and semi-real train, and a health station. It was so AWESOME. We could stay so long. It was $8 for people over 2 years and you can come and go all day as you please and bring your lunch. It was so neat. I posted a million pics b/c I loved it so much. Even Natalie enjoyed playing with all of the stuff. There were hardly any people there and the girls just ran around and played. We ended the day with a quick trip to Discover Mills for Clint some new shirts, Chili's and a ride on the Carousel. I used to love spinning things...no longer! Clint & I were both feeling sick. It was Natalie's first time. We tried not paying for her and letting her watch but she had nothing to do with that so she rode to.

Melanie's Preschool Graduation

Melanie had her graduation from her 2 year old preschool class last week. It was very cute and Melanie really had been practicing and was ready to show off her skills. However, this year I did not get teary eyed...probably because I was trying my best to keep Natalie content. Lord, I go through more puffs these days trying to keep Natalie quiet and still. I don't feel too guilty giving her puffs...I mean come on they are basically calorie free. Again, videos will be posted later...I have to gear up to try to figure out posting from my new video camera but the pics are cute. I didn't post the pics from her on the stage b/c it did not turn out good on the camera.

Gymnastics Performance

Melanie and Natalie both had their final gymnastic performance for the season. Melanie had a legit performance where she had routines on the floor, beam and bars. She did really well and this past week has finally mastered her forward roll. She has been in gymnastics for 2 1/2 years but finally she did it. Natalie is showing off her forward roll in one of the pics. She wants to copy Melanie so bad. Natalie is also showing off her foot and the stamp on it in one of the pics. She loves getting stamps these days and will show them to complete strangers. Natalie generally doesn't have a paci in gymnastics but recently she is all about her sleep and sleeps a TON. She is going down between 7:30-8:00 and sleeping until 8:00-9:00 and then still taking a very long 1 1/2-3 hr morning nap and a 1 1/2-2 1/2 hour afternoon nap. Gymnastics is cutting into her nap time so she was getting fussy and the paci semi-calmed her down. The stamp really did the trick! Melanie will be taking a dance/gymnastics combo this summer and Natalie will continue in plain gymnastics. We had a week off and start our new classes later this week. The classes are pretty much at the same time so the girls don't have so much wait time dealing with their sisters classes this summer...thank goodness!
