Yellow River Game Ranch Pics

pictures

A couple of weeks ago (before Easter) we got Melanie's one year pictures made. However, I know they were late being made and we are late putting them on the blog...better late than never? There are more- we didn't order all of these- I will put the better ones on when I get a chance.

Two More Times!

I put her on the potty 3 times yesterday after I got home from work and guess what...2 of the times she used the toilet. Wahoooooo!!! What a big girl!

WAHOOOOOO!

Guess what Melanie did yesterday....peepeed in her potty!!!! I bought her a potty in hopes to try and start training her this summer when I am off. But, yesterday I thought what the heck. She definitely understands about going to the bathroom- she will always run straight to it when whoever is watching her says that need to go peepee and she is NOT discreet when she poops but still- she is only 15 months old!! So, I asked her yesterday if she wanted to go peepee on her potty. I took off her diaper and sat her down. I read her a book and asked her if she needed to go more or if she was finished. She signed more so I read her another book. I then asked if she was finished and she told me no. So I started another book. I didn't get through this other book when she said "inished" (she doesn't say the "f"). So she stood up and she and I looked in the potty and guess what- there was pee in the potty!!! We took it to the big potty, poured it in and flushed. Then she got a mini Hershey's bar b/c that was all I had. I was so excited I think I scared her. I could tell she needed to poop later in the night so I took her to the potty but I was too late- she had already pooped in her diaper but she put on a show anyway grunting and straining but no luck. I don't think she has any clue to initiate the potty or to hold her peepee but I think she could definitely be trip-trained at this point. Wahoo- big girl!!!!!

Welcome New Fish

Well, we officially got a new fish to replace the deceased. But keep reading...it gets better. I decided to go for one "high quality" fish rather than 2 cheap ones. My high quality fish cost $2.19 rather than 0.19 so it should be exponentially better... well one would think that. I told the young man to pick any of the fish in the price range and that I wanted a healthy, good swimmer. I got it home set up the tank and was proud of my purchase. It is a speckled goldfish and WAS named Pepper until Clint came upstairs. As I was beaming about my purchase I realized I got a special needs fish. He only had one eye- yes you heard me right. There is a black void where the other eye should be. So Pepper is renamed Pirate.

Melanie went to the Yellow River Game Ranch with my parents yesterday. I was sad because I wanted to be there on her first trip to the "zoo" but it sounds like she had fun. She ate as many crackers as the animals. Mom took pictures so I will post them later.

Long Live Salt & Pepper #`1

13 days ago I got Melanie a fish tank with 2 goldfish (Salt & Pepper). I have a horrible track record with fish- that is why I have a class gerbil. Anyway, after 13 days I went into Melanie's room to get her out of her crib and Pepper was floating and Salt was sitting on the bottom of the tank. So, generation #1 of Salt and Pepper are now just a fond memory. Please help us welcome Salt and Pepper #2 this weekend :)

We had a wonderful Easter. We went to church with Clint's mom. Melanie sat through the service with us- well sat is not the correct word. She was very quiet but very active. I don't know if keeping her with us was the smartest move. Anyway Melanie really enjoyed all of her Easter baskets (in total she got 4- boy is she rotten!). She got a kick out of opening eggs and seeing what was inside them. She was sad when she would shake it and not hear anything. The Easter Bunny that came to our house was smart and left Cheerios in the eggs. However, the Easter Bunny that came to my parents house was not as smart and left Reece's PB Cups and Peeps in the eggs- jeez louise! I am going to add pics in bunches b/c that are coming off different cameras. But, we had a great day spending time with everyone.

Visit

Dee, Caydie and Melanie
Dee is teaching her how to read chapter books :)

Melanie fixing Caydie's hair

Showing off her belly again

Putting her baby in the new Easter basket her great grandma gave her

Hanging out with her Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather (Granny and Pawpaw)

Playing with Mamaw

Checking out the sea shell basket- the funny thing about this shot is that she was showing her butt crack.

Posing at Granny and Pawpaw's

She is playing with the caterpillar crawling up her arm. She was so funny and couldn't decide if she liked it or hated it.

She was content to sit in the gravel flower bed and fill up this bucket- the simple life of a child!

We went to Chattanooga yesterday for a day trip. Melanie was on her best behavior. She got a little fussy on the way home around Marietta but juice and constant performances by mommy in the backseat seemed to make her okay. However, when we got home (at 9:00 pm) after napping in the car she was ready to go. She was up until about 10:15 playing and having a good old time. Here are some cute pictures of her from the trip. More will be added later after I get then from my mom b/c I apparently didn't take any pictures of her with the folks we went to visit.

I LOVE Spring Break!

Loving on Nana
Posing with Dawn

Loving the ballpark...hummm... what's in her future?

Sleeping with Pawpaw

Boy do I love staying home. Melanie is so much fun right now that it is a blast to get to stay home with her. Plus- she takes a nap in her crib (when she was a baby I had to hold her) so I get 2 or more hours of just me time (well, chore and me time)- HOORAY! Here are some cute pictures Rodney took of her recently.
